Grant proposal writing is a bit of a science and while we don't claim to have all the answers, we like to think we've got a good system that works. Here are the typical steps we prefer to take when chosen as your outsourced grant writing team:
Phase One
Introductory meeting with both Richard and Amanda
Review of fundraising goals
Discussion and strategy formation
Phase Two
Agree upon terms and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Discovery - review of your organization's material and past proposals
Phase Three
Grant prospecting and calendar development
*Optional - creation of a Colorado Common Grant (CCGA) Application template
Preparation and submission of agreed upon requests for proposals (RFPs)
We like to charge by the hour for grant writing - that tends to save our clients money. A letter of intent (LOI) for example may only take an hour to put together, whereas a full proposal will take many more and therefore it is difficult to use flat fee pricing. We charge $95.00/hour and do not charge for time expended in Phase One or Two! We are also cognizant of small budgets and will work with clients to maximize our time to save money.
