Over the years we've noticed that nonprofit organizations, often overwhelmed with the day-to-day operations, are not able to fully onboard and train their board members. Consequently, new board members are unsure of their role and fail to fully contribute their strengths and expertise. During the webinar TNSG will provide an overview of the basics of board membership and practical suggestions for engaging in a meaningful way. Topics include the purpose of the board, board member job descriptions, and practical recommendations for supporting your cause while maximizing your gifts and abilities.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Everyone is welcome, but the content is geared towards those serving as board members for a nonprofit organization or individuals who are interested in finding a nonprofit board to serve on. Richard and Amanda work with dozens of nonprofits throughout Colorado who are always looking for great board members to add to their team. Let us know if we can help you find a nonprofit organization to serve!
Thursday, November 5th at 12:00 p.m. MST. via Zoom
Once you register you will receive a meeting invite with the Zoom link and details on the agenda.
Join us for an hour on Thursday, November 5th starting at 12:00 p.m. Grab your lunch and join us by phone or video. Participation is not required but we will open up for discussion and questions at the end!
Richard and Amanda both have extensive experience writing grants and it's our favorite thing to do! Whether its a foundation, state, or federal government grant - we can help. TNSG also subscribes to the most comprehensive grant search engines so you don't have to.
Strategic planning is necessary but time consuming and cumbersome and the resulting report often ends up on a shelf somewhere. Our approach is to work with the board and staff to develop a "living" plan or framework. The process and resulting ideas are used to guide decision-making and future growth.
Board members with proper training, on-boarding and clear expectations are an asset to the organization. We offer group trainings and additional support especially for board leaders. TNSG can help transform your board into an effective and supportive team.
We are all connected in some way by our passion for helping people and serving our Colorado communities. The Nonprofit Strategy Group facilitates two peer groups to support leaders because regardless of the population you serve (whether it be humans, animals, or forests) it's a challenging role you don't have to do it alone! Each group is comprised of up to 12 nonprofit leaders and meet via Zoom. Sessions are structured, but allow for flexibility depending on the needs of the group. We offer support, tools and resources, space for problem-solving and open discussion.
On the third Thursday of the month we facilitate an in-person peer leadership group just for Denver-area nonprofit executive directors/CEOs. This original Leader's Circle is a small peer group offering a safe space for sharing and support. Think of it as a support group without the copay! We meet in Capitol Hill over the lunch hour.
